St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker and Student Government President Surkhel Yousafzai teamed up the first week of classes to send out an important video message to Huskies to Lay Low.
We have heard you when you told us that you want to be in class with your professors and classmates and you want to be actively engaged in campus life, while remaining safe and healthy. President Wacker, after talking with many of you and your families, has charged the campus community to do everything we can to “Bring our Huskies Home”. We want you here! Fall semester classes start on Aug. 24.
As we continue to follow recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Minnesota Department of Health and the state of Minnesota, we want to continue to reiterate that the safety of our Husky Community is our number one priority.
A member of the St Cloud State University community reported that they have been diagnosed with lab confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus). Once someone is lab confirmed with COVID-19, the Minnesota Department of Health conducts an investigation about the nature and circumstances of the case. For this case, they have determined that the risk of exposure at our university is low and similar to the exposure one might have while being out in the community.
We hope this message finds you well and the first week of transitioning to remote delivery has gone well for you. We want to reiterate our number one priority is to ensure we are doing everything we can to help you continue to make positive progress towards graduation and beginning your career.
I hope this message finds you well and you are ready for classes to resume on Monday. St. Cloud State University remains fully committed to doing everything we can to make sure you are able to continue making positive progress toward graduation despite the constantly changing landscape caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It goes without saying that this has been an unbelievable week. I just wanted to send a quick note to all of you that did not include institutional changes. I thought a great way to end the week was to just send a general message. So here it goes.
I am writing to provide the latest update on St. Cloud State University’s response to the current Coronavirus/COVID-19 health crisis. Late yesterday we received a new communication from Minnesota State Chancellor Devinder Malhotra to all system institutions.
