The Office of Alumni Relations recently launched Huskies U, a professional development and personal enrichment webinar series for St Cloud State alumni.
“We blended best practices with needs that alumni identified in several focus groups we held recently, and we designed this webinar series to enhance professional development and personal growth,” said Terri Mische, St. Cloud State’s director of alumni and constituent engagement, and executive director of the St. Cloud State University Alumni Association. “We plan to provide topics our alumni find relevant to their profession and personal life. The majority of our subject matter experts will be St. Cloud State alumni.”
Webinars will be offered from 12-1 p.m. on a weekday throughout the year.
The first webinar, “How to Harness the Power of LinkedIn,” took place Sept. 17 featuring St. Cloud State alumnus Lonny Gulden ’73. Gulden, a tech recruiter, LinkedIn trainer, job coach and owner of Deep Valley Consulting LLC facilitates workshops focusing on the use of LinkedIn for business development, job searching and employee recruiting. His presentation offered tips, tools and tricks that can be used on LinkedIn to help participants advance to the next level in their careers, change fields, pursue a new career, polish their LinkedIn skills and teach new users how to effectively build a profile.
Future speakers and topics are being finalized. There is no fee to participate in Huskies U. Alumni will be able to register for future webinars online and will receive a certificate for completing each session.
Upcoming webinars will be announced via email, on the St. Cloud State alumni website and on the Alumni Association’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn channels.
