SCSU student Trevor Hornsby has spent his summer helping optimize processes at Thermo-Tech’s manufacturing plant, some of which are an extension of the same problems SCSU students worked on at Huskies Invent.
This week hundreds of new and returning Huskies arrive on campus to move into their on-campus dorm rooms. Over 1,100 students will move into Case-Hill Hall, Mitchell Hall, Shoemaker Hall, Lawrence Hall and the Stateview Apartments this week.
Nearly 150 international students arrived earlier this week, and about 500 students moved in throughout Thursday. The remaining students will continue to arrive before classes begin on Monday, Aug. 26.
Huskies Dining is committed to providing a student-centered experience for eating on campus, and they’ve made some exciting changes for the 2024-25 academic year.
SCSU alumna Anna Behning has been named a Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (STAA) All-American, which annually recognizes the most outstanding collegiate radio and TV sports broadcasters.
Behning graduated in May with a degree in Mass Communications and was a top-six finisher for the coveted Jim Nantz Award, presented to the top collegiate broadcaster by STAA since 2009.
St. Cloud State University’s Huskies Food Pantry has made its official move to the James W. Miller Learning Resources Center this week, ensuring a better space for distribution of food for students.
The Huskies Food Pantry had nearly 10,000 total visits during the past academic year, distributing over 119,000 pounds of food to almost 2,300 individual students. Students have continually utilized this important service, prompting a need for a move.

St. Cloud State University hosted its annual Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, June 6 at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. This year’s event included a panel discussion on the benefits of and the need for lifelong learning.
SCSU’s student-run organization Husky Productions has won a national award. After being nominated for six SVG College Sports Media Awards last month, SCSU took home the top prize for Outstanding Live Non-Game Production in the Collegiate Student division.

During the spring semester, 25 students from SCSU participated in the fifth Huskies Invent. For this semester, Thermo-Tech Windows and Doors of Sauk Rapids sponsored this 48-hour invent-a-thon. The event, designed to foster creativity and problem-solving, focused on five challenges presented by Thermo-Tech, a company known for producing high-quality windows and doors since 1993.
