Huskies Baseball begins its quest for postseason glory May 6-9 in Sioux Falls and May 14-17 at the NCAA Central Region Tournament.

Huskies Baseball stands on the cusp of competitive success unmatched in school baseball history.

The team won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Baseball Conference title May 2, earning the top seed at the double-elimination conference tournament May 6-9 in Sioux Falls. A No. 1 national ranking bodes well for the May 14-17 NCAA Division II Central  Regional Tournament. The tournament site and team seeding are expected May 10. The Division II Championship, an eight-team, double-elimination affair, is May 23-30 in Cary, North Carolina.

Coach Pat Dolan ’92, the coaching staff and the 47-3 Huskies are poised to break the school record for season wins: 48.

Saturday’s road doubleheader at Northern State University, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, was make-or-break for St. Cloud State. With a 4-0 Game 1 win in hand, the Huskies played part of the next game knowing conference rival Minnesota State University Mankato had just lost to Winona State University. A Huskies win would bring the conference title back to St. Cloud.

The 7-5 Game 2 win — closed out by All-American junior pitcher Reese Gregory (St. Cloud) — launched the 30-man roster into a joyous on-field celebration.
