Cannon Falls Beacon — Sue Bremer ’80 is a Cannon Falls native who grew up with her brother Jim on “Bremer Corner.”
Some might remember her father Todd as their rural mail carrier and her mother Sarah as a business teacher. When asked what led her to a career teaching phy-ed, she said, “All my teachers were fabulous! My mother was a teacher, and her sister was a teacher, too, so it just seemed right. And I’ve always loved sports!”
After graduation she majored in physical education and health at St. Cloud State University. It was far enough away and yet close enough to home. She was hired in Cannon Falls to work at Mineral Springs, which at that time was the site of a treatment center for youths addicted to drugs and alcohol. Later she transferred to elementary phy-ed. “Mrs. Teeter had been my basketball coach, so it was great to get to work with her.”
