Granite City Radio Theatre returns for its fourth season

GCRT logoKVSC’s Granite City Radio Theatre is returning for its fourth season.

The variety show, including a host, comedy sketches, radio drama, trivia challenge and music, is performed
live at the Pioneer Place on Fifth and is broadcasted on KVSC-FM 88.1 and HD1, as well as streamed live on KVSC.org.

Mark “Hazzy” Hasbrouck, a member of area bands such as Pachanga Society and Blimp, will join house band Collective Unconscious 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Pioneer Place on Fifth.

Other show dates include:

–        Wednesday, Dec. 2 – musical guest, Keri Noble

–        Wednesday, March 16 – TBA

–        Wednesday, May 18 – TBA

St. Cloud State students help with sound engineering, all design for promotion in print and the web, among others. Students also help with announcing at the venue, play roles in skits and produce the show in the KVSC studios.

“Granite City Radio Theatre harnesses the creative and organizational strengths of both KVSC’s and the Pioneer Place on 5th,” said Jo McMullen-Boyer, KVSC station manager. “KVSC is able to connect with our listeners and new audience with the creative energy, incredible venue, talented writers and technical support staff of the Pioneer Place.”

Tickets are $5 for students, $12 prior to the show date and $15 the night of the show. Tickets can be purchased at  www.ppfive.com.

The Granite City Radio Theatre is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Legacy Fund.
