Students and employees will gather noon Feb. 1 in Atwood Memorial Center to honor Dance Team, which recently earned a national title.
The 16-team members, joined by co-coaches Morgan Hanenberger and Megen Rosvold ’13, will be the focus of a half-hour event in the main lounge.
The Department of Campus Involvement, which is hosting the celebration, will serve light refreshments. Well-wishers are encouraged to wear St. Cloud State apparel and/or red, black and white attire.

Dance Team won the open pom title Jan. 17 at the College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Florida. The three-day competition, managed by the Universal Dance Association and Universal Cheerleaders Association, is billed as the nation’s most prestigious dance team championship.
The dancers delivered two peak performances at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to beat schools such as Minnesota State University Mankato, The College of New Jersey, Sonoma State University and University of Central Oklahoma.
In the open jazz category, St. Cloud State finished sixth, the best result in school history, according to Rosvold.
“These women dedicated more than 500 hours of practice time between June and January to prepare for their competition, while maintaining a 3.13 team GPA fall semester,” said David McCandless, assistant director for campus programs and spirit groups.
“They are outstanding representatives of St. Cloud State University,” he said.
