St. Cloud State University music department’s Shannon Sadler and Catherine Verrilli will present an experiential lecture on the practice of mindfulness meditation techniques for musicians at the 2016 Minnesota Music Teachers Association June 13-14 at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West Hotel in Minneapolis.
Sadler, a pianist, and Verrilli, soprano, will address why mindfulness is important for students, teachers and developing young artists and the science behind mindful meditation. The presentation will also demonstrate and explore the application of mindfulness to the music studio.
Both Sadler and Verrilli will guide participants through mindfulness meditation exercises that students of all ages can benefit from.
