Longtime voice of the Huskies dies at age 69

ST CLOUD TIMES — One of the most recognizable voices in St. Cloud has died.

Steve Hammer, who for more than 30 years was the public address announcer for St. Cloud State football and men’s basketball games, died Sunday.

Hammer’s distinctive voice will be missed at games, but he was also a long-time booster of the athletic department with a great memory for past players and games.
