The JP Network will present Japan Night at 6 p.m. on April 7 in the Atwood Ballroom.
The theme for this year’s celebration is the first day of school ceremony, also known as Nyuugakushiki.
The JP Network picked the theme to give the community a taste of what schooling is like in Japan. The ceremony is towelcome new students to the new school that they will be attending. There will be many different kinds of performances throughout the night, some of these performances include Japanese drumming, traditional dances and a modern Japanese pop dance.
The meal will be consist of karaage (Japanese fried chicken), tonkatsu (Pork cutlet), miso soup, and a fruit dessert.
JP Network will be selling tickets Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Atwood kiosk area.
JP Network is a student organization that aims to teach Japanese and American culture. Its main goal is to create a social network between the members and provide aid to Japanese students. They host many different types of events that are oriented around Japanese and American culture, such as movie nights, Japan Night, Undokai (sport day) and others.
The organization is the most diverse student organization on campus it has students from all over Asia and other countries.
