St. Cloud State University has been designated a 2019 Military Friendly Silver School by Victory Media in the 2019-2020 Military Friendly Schools list.
St. Cloud State exceeded Military Friendly standards on every measure. As a Silver school, St. Cloud State came within 20 percent of the score achieved by the 10th overall ranked school in the large public schools category.
The designation reinforces us to strive further and do our part as a community to help our veteran students get their degree and move into their desired degree, said Zac Mangas, St. Cloud State Veterans Resources director. St. Cloud State has improved policies and procedures for student-veterans and offers in-state tuition and waiving application fees for all veteran applicants.
Once veterans are enrolled, St. Cloud State offers free tutoring, employment help and programs to ease the transition to civilian life.
“Each day I hear of how students are doing and how they are receiving support across campus – amazing job St. Cloud State, Mangas said. “We as an institution are committed to assisting our military-connected students, families, and communities and are excited to have this designation.”
The designation joins other veterans-related accolades for St. Cloud State including the 2019 ‘Best for Vets” ranking by Military Times and the Military Advanced Education and Transition Top School distinction in 2017.
St. Cloud State was one of only 766 schools to earn the Military Friendly Schools designation for 2019-2020. The university is one of only 18 of Minnesota colleges or universities on the list and one of eight Minnesota State institutions honored.
