Nigerian Night will be held at 5 p.m. on April 27 in the Atwood Memorial Center Ballroom at St. Cloud State University.
The theme for the celebration is Nigerian Excellence.
The goal for the night is to highlight the people, places, and things that make Nigeria the standout country that it is today.
Nigeria Night will start by showcasing delicious food from the various regions in Nigeria. The night will continue to play on the theme of Nigerian Excellence from the dances to the drama. There will also be an after party with the premier DJ in Minnesota, DJ Bank.
The NSO, or the Nigerian Student Organization, is a non-profit campus group whose aim is to educate fellow students, as well as the broader St. Cloud Community, about Nigerian culture. This will cover a broad spectrum ranging from food to mental health issues.
The NSO would like the audience to experience that Africa, Nigeria in particular, is not a monolith. Nigeria is a vast conglomeration of cultures, food and languages. Each different but excellent in its own form.
The NSO is selling tickets in Atwood. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for the pubic.
