Our hearts go out to our students from Sri Lanka and others in our campus community who have been deeply affected by Sunday’s suicide bombings that claimed the lives of at least 290 and injured hundreds more. On behalf of all of us at St. Cloud State University, I wish to extended support and condolences to the families and loved ones who are grieving as a result of this horrific tragedy.
As we await the results of investigations into these deadly bombings and further news about loved ones, please support members of our Huskies community who are impacted by this tragedy with compassion and kindness.
I invite you to join me tomorrow (Tuesday), which has been declared a national day of mourning, from 4-4:30 p.m. on the Atwood Porch for a Candle Lighting Ceremony for victims in Sri Lanka. We will stand in solidarity and sympathy with those who are grieving and searching for answers to yet another act of violence that has left the world in shock and sorrow.
For those in the St. Cloud State community who would like additional support, please take advantage of these services.
