Husky Plaza unleashes new campus traditions

The bronze husky statue displayed in the center of the new Husky Plaza at St. Cloud State University.

St. Cloud State University’s Sesquicentennial year-long celebration may be over, but a lasting tribute to the University’s first 150 years is in place to engage current and future students, alumni and friends.

Husky Plaza, a new gathering space featuring a bronze Husky – two-time life size — will become a place where new friendships are born and old ones rekindled, where prospective students get their first dose of “Husky Pride” and families will gather to celebrate and photograph their beloved graduate.

Husky Plaza is filled with inscribed bricks bearing witness to the wonderful friendships formed at St. Cloud State, of bonds between teammates, tributes to faculty and where love first bloomed.

Over $80,000 was raised for scholarships following the sale of bricks, and interested donors may purchase a brick or paver for installation in summer 2020 by clicking here.
