This year’s Homecoming events features virtual events for alumni and friends to engage in and on-campus engagement for students living and studying on campus.
The pre-festivities begin Monday, Oct. 12 with sidewalk chalking and the start of the Huskies Hunt, a scavenger hunt where students have the ability to search for Huskies around campus and turn in their findings for a prize.
The main event begin Wednesday, Oct. 14 with the on-campus event kickoff with Tye-Die T-Shirts. Additional on-campus events for students include Blizzard Bingo, Blizzardshack Mini-Golf and Movie Nights featuring “Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse.”
Students can RSVP for their Homecoming events through Huskies Connect. Students who RSVP can select a timeslot that works with their schedule and skip the line during the event. Students wishing to play Blizzard Bingo virtually will receive information on how to connect after they RSVP.
Alumni virtual events start Thursday, Oct. 15 with the 2020 Donor Appreciation Virtual Gala. Donors are welcome to mix themselves the Homecoming 2020 signature cocktail “It’s Thyme, Huskies” as they tune into the gala. Those enjoying the cocktail are encouraged to drink responsibly and only imbibe if they are of legal drinking age.
The rest of the weekend includes several signature alumni events including:
- Reunions for Hmong Student Organization and Council of African American Students
- The 2020 Institutional Investment Outlook
- A President’s Town Hall for International Alumni
- The 2019-20 SCSU Alumni Association Awards Recognition
Alumni and students are welcome to join together for a few virtual Homecoming 2020 events including:
- The dedication of the Grant ’63 and Carol Nelson Strength and Conditioning Center – 11 a.m. Oct. 17
- The Homecoming 5K
- The Alumni Art Exhibit
