St. Cloud’s InnovatorsCONNECT visited campus to learn about partnership opportunities within the Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF) during the Oct. 26 event.
The St. Cloud Economic Development Department hosts InnovatorsCONNECT events throughout the year with the goal of creating an opportunity for key industries to learn and exchange ideas, create new relationships and promote innovations, said Tammy Campion ’97, Economic Development specialist.
The events are focusing on the industries of automation, business software nd applications, food manufacturing and precision manufacturing with the goal of fostering an environment of innovation and new collaborations. The city seeks to partner with industries to identify needs and challenges in order to help them connect with resources and solutions, she said.
Tuesday’s event featured a presentation from GeoComm CEO John Bryant and Production Manager Steve Henningsgard ’17 who spoke highly about the projects and innovations the company has started with professors and students at St. Cloud State.
ISELF was a natural spot for the InnovatorsCONNECT’s first in-person meeting due to the innovation happening within the building every day.
St. Cloud State is a partner with many of the businesses involved in InnovatorsCONNECT due to its strong partnerships with industry that give students transformative experiential learning opportunities and businesses access to innovative ideas and research happening on campus.
St. Cloud State’s innovative partnerships throughout campus are housed within the campus Institute of Technology, which is a place to incubate innovative approaches, practices and initiatives to integrate technology into all aspects of teaching and learning as outlined by the It’s Time framework.
