Huskies Scholarships are now open and accepting applications for the 2023-24 school year. Most scholarships have a deadline of March 13, 2023, though some vary.
Last academic year, 1,027 St. Cloud State University students received scholarships totaling nearly $1.38 million through Huskies Scholarships. There are over 500 different scholarships available that are funded by alumni and community partners, and eligibility requirements vary greatly. Huskies Scholarships also includes over 50 external scholarship opportunities and 17 national scholarship search tools.
Faculty and staff play a critical role in the scholarship award process by encouraging students to apply, alerting students of deadlines and providing letters of reference when asked. They also review and score qualified applications, select recipients and offer scholarships. These processes are managed by Advancement & Alumni Engagement, the Financial Aid Office and a designated scholarship administrator in each college/school. These staff also provide training and support for faculty scholarship committees.
Students who complete the Huskies Scholarships general application are automatically matched to specific scholarships. However, two-thirds of the scholarships require additional information such as an essay or reference, so must be applied for individually. After submitting a general application, students are presented a list of recommended opportunities for which they may qualify if they answer supplemental questions. It is recommended that students also search for scholarships using a keyword or the convenient filter button. Parents and community members can view and search for scholarships without signing-in.
Students signing-in with a Star ID can:
- View and search scholarships
- Apply and accept scholarships
- Submit thank-you letters to donors
Newly admitted students receive scholarships through the Office of Admissions system and may also apply for scholarships offered in Huskies Scholarships.
