President Robbyn Wacker, Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management Jason Woods and Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Abbey Zink were among the Deans, faculty, staff and University leadership assisting with the ceremonies and celebration of graduates.
“Today is a day to celebrate you, your families and your academic accomplishments,” President Wacker said. “You and St. Cloud State have a lot in common. I want you to remember that, yes you are bold, yes you are innovative, and yes, you are focused. And so too is your institution. … I am deeply honored to have served as your president. Congratulations once again, graduates.”
The student address was made by Marjan Doostan, who was part of the 2023 graduating class after completing her Master’s in Applied Clinical Research. Alumni Association Board President Andrew Gasperlin ’99 shared remarks on behalf of the Alumni Association.
“As this chapter at St. Cloud State University comes to its end, may we cherish the wisdom of our learned experiences, the personal growth achieved, the friendships gained and, of course, the mentorship and kindness we received. We must be dedicated to innovation and dream big, be resilient to obstacles and challenges, and be empathetic to our fellow humans in leaving a legacy of kindness,” Doostan said. “As we boldly step into the world, let us embrace the qualities of dedication, resilience and kindness as our guiding stars in navigating the next chapter of our careers and lives in becoming difference makers.”

“Your efforts align with the theme of today’s commencement — to be bold, to be innovative, to be focused. My hope is that you take this time to think about how you have been bold, how you have been innovative and how you have been focused, during your time with us,” Vice President Woods said. “Huskies, you are ready. Your education here has prepared you. Your boldness knows no limits, your innovative ways will change the world and your focus will be proof to current or future employers that St. Cloud State sent you.”
