President Earl H. Potter III’s leadership and commitment to social awareness and the community is being recognized in the St. Cloud community.
The St. Cloud NAACP honored Potter with its 2016 Presidential Award at its 33rd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Fund Banquet Jan. 17 at the River’s Edge Convention Center.
“You were selected by the NAACP Executive Board … Because you have a unique character that sets you apart from other candidates. And we admire your individuality, which has shaped your values and aspiration,” said Denise Fale, NAACP president. “You are a leader, showing that you are capable, confident and fair.”
The award recognizes Potter’s commitment to service, being socially conscious and community.
“You have shown the NAACP Executive Broad that if we invest in you, we are investing in a person who contributes to the betterment of society and Central Minnesota,” she said.
Potter accepted the award with several faculty, staff and students in attendance.
