Fifteen post graduate Colombian students attended Doing Business in the USA June 5-12 at St. Cloud State University to learn first-hand the aspects of business and business networking in the United States.
Partnering with Universidad Externado de Colombia, the program’s participants are middle level managers in Colombian companies and small business owners who are interested in learning more about American business processes and practices.
Throughout the week-long program, the students learned how American entrepreneurs and small business owners in the United States navigate managerial, financial, legal and marketing challenges in the current economy.
Participants also attended presentations on business networking by members of the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce and the St. Cloud Downtown Council. They also visited local businesses including Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Company and New Flyer in St. Cloud and Urban Moose Brewing Company in Sauk Rapids.
“This is a truly unique collaborative effort, bring together St. Cloud State, the City of St. Cloud business community and agencies of the State of Minnesota,” said Elizabeth Valencia-Borgert, community outreach director at St. Cloud State. “Through this collaboration we showcase the best that Minnesota gas to offer to the new innovator and entrepreneur.”
The program also offers opportunities to network with international partners in business and higher education.
