Two alumni and Professor Matt Julius will be among the speakers at the third annual TEDxStCloud Oct. 10.
TEDxStCloud 2019 will feature six local speakers on a broad range of topics, each presenting an “idea work spreading.”

Alumnus Steve Henningsgard ’17, alumna Jashmin Nakarmi ’18 and Professor Matt Julius will be among the six speakers to take the stage during the event.
Henningsgard is listed as a former touring musician and audio engineer and current product manager at GeoComm. Julius as the leader of the anaerobic digestion and biomass production team at St. Cloud State, and Nakarmi as a graphic designer by trade originally from Nepal who seeks new life experiences and living without regret.
Other speakers include:
- Kanthi Yalamanchili — Founder and CEO of Rizlet, a tech startup that aims to empower women and create chic, smart wearables that help keep them safe
- Brian Beck, Ph.D. — Leads technology assessment activities at Microbiologics, including focus on quantitation, inactivation and preservation of microorganisms for novel, ready-to-use formats
- Mary Dana Hinton, Ph.D. — President of the College of Saint Benedict, which provides a liberal arts education preparing women to think critically, lead courageously and advocate passionately
Launched in 2009 by TED, TEDx is a program of locally-organized events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience.
Past St. Cloud State faculty who have presented at TEDx events include Beth Berila and Mark Gill at the 2018 TEDxStCloud and Tracy Ore at TEDxGeorgeSchool in Newtown, Pennsylvania in 2015.
