Any current St. Cloud State University student interested in submitting art work to be included in the annual Miller Center Student Art Show can do so now through Nov. 3. The show, sponsored by the St. Cloud State Library and the Art Student Union, showcases juried student art and provides interested students the opportunity to organize, advertise and put on an art show.
SCSU students are eligible to enter two pieces of art, which can be dropped off at the University Library’s circulation desk on the first floor of the Miller Center. Students must also complete an online loan agreement and submit an artist statement with their artwork.
The Miller Center Student Art Show began in 2016 as an opportunity for more students, whether they were art majors or not, to have their art displayed. The event returned in 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the week of Nov. 6, judges from the Paramount Center for the Arts in St. Cloud will name a champion, second place, third place and two honorable mentions among the submissions. The exhibit includes sculptures, paintings, digital art and photography. The winners will be announced at the art show’s opening reception at 4 p.m. on Nov. 16 on the west end of Miller Center’s first floor.
The art will be on display in Miller Center from Nov. 16 through the first week of spring semester in January. Learn more about the guidelines and find additional forms and information about the Miller Center Student Art Show.
