St. Cloud State University held its annual Veterans Day Program and Social on Nov. 9 ahead of Veterans Day on Nov. 11 to show appreciation and to recognize our nation’s veterans.
The event, sponsored by the SCSU Veterans Resource Center, Student Veteran Organization, Wallace S. Chute Post 76 American Legion, Fighting Saints Battalion ROTC and SCSU Chamber Choir, included a program and social held in the Atwood Memorial Center Voyageurs Room on campus.
The program featured speeches from Student Veteran Organization President Isaac Reich, SCSU alumnus, veteran and instructor Nicholas Lengyel, Command Sgt. Major (Ret.) Barry Kirschoff, Colonel (Ret.) Laura Ludwig, SCSU Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management Dr. Jason Woods and Colonel (Ret.), SCSU professor and Student Veteran Organization advisor Martin Breaker.
The SCSU Chamber Choir performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America” to begin and conclude the program.
