St. Cloud State University is the national training site for Association of Title IX Administrators training June 24-25.
More than 150 trainees from colleges and universities across the country will be at St. Cloud State to receive training on how to conduct a successful investigation of Title IX violations.
Trainees will include staff and administrators who investigate and process complaints and violations related to gender-based discrimination and violence. They are coming to St. Cloud State from 33 colleges and universities in nine states.
They will learn the basics of Title IX and a mastery of investigation of campus sexual misconduct and sexual harassment.
St. Cloud State offered to host the training to help college staff and administrators here and elsewhere prevent and respond to sexual violence, said Peggy Sarnicki, St. Cloud State director of Student Conduct and Programs.
Participants will receive certification from the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) on completion of the course. Brett Sokolow, a founder of ATIXA, will be providing the training.
While participants are at St. Cloud State, they will be invited to participate in community celebrations such as the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair and other Summer Celebrate! events, Summertime by George and the Granite City Days events.
St. Cloud State is one of 10 sites where ATIXA is hosting level one civil rights investigator certification training. ATIXA offers a number of certification courses for professionals who work with Title IX rules and regulations.
