Support services for veterans receives high marks

MAE Military FriendlySt. Cloud State has received its second military-friendly school designation for 2013, this time from Military Advanced Education, a journal of higher learning published 10 times a year for members of America’s armed forces.

The 2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities, published by KMI Media Group, includes almost 300 institutions surveyed for military-friendly characteristics.

Color-coded dashboards throughout the guide display the results of the survey. They consist of four gauges representing key categories of consideration to service members, veterans, their spouses and dependents: support services, flexibility, financial assistance and military culture.St. Cloud State received highest marks in support services and military culture. Support services carried the most weight in the survey, according to the report, followed by flexibility, financial assistance and military culture.
