St. Cloud Live — After toppling defending Division II national champion Cal State Los Angeles over the weekend, the St. Cloud State volleyball team rose up in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The Huskies (3-1) are tied for seventh in the latest poll with Southwest Minnesota State (4-0).
KNSI — College students will remember the sacrifice of first responders on one of America’s darkest days.
The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Fighting Saints Battalion will host a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb starting at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Husky Stadium on the St. Cloud State University campus. The unit is made up of ROTC Students from SCSU, Saint John’s University and the College of Saint Benedict.

This year, St. Cloud State students will have the chance to connect with about 120 organizations and programs spread throughout campus on Sept. 11 during Mainstreet 2024. If you are looking to get involved on campus, this event is an excellent way to connect with the campus community.
The Rink Live — Matt Cullen spent 21 seasons in the NHL with eight different teams, and is a three-time league champion. He retired in 2019 as one of just two American players to ever log 1,500 games in the top professional league.
A member of three state tournament teams with the Spuds, Cullen went on to college stardom at St. Cloud State, and was inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame in 2023. His number 9 is one of just two sweaters ever formally retired by the Huskies.
KNSI — Students began class Aug. 26 at St. Cloud State University.
Interim President Larry Dietz took to social media to welcome those new to the school. “I want to wish you a great day. Whether you’re a new freshman experiencing your first day on the campus or you’re a faculty staff member who has been here for decades, I wish you a great first day, a great semester and a great academic year.”
This week hundreds of new and returning Huskies arrive on campus to move into their on-campus dorm rooms. Over 1,100 students will move into Case-Hill Hall, Mitchell Hall, Shoemaker Hall, Lawrence Hall and the Stateview Apartments this week.
Nearly 150 international students arrived earlier this week, and about 500 students moved in throughout Thursday. The remaining students will continue to arrive before classes begin on Monday, Aug. 26.
St. Cloud Times — As a new academic year looms ahead, St. Cloud State University and the City of St. Cloud provided a united front at Tuesday morning’s town hall, saying the two entities will work together to create a better community.
“You come into a situation, and you come in with a fresh set of eyes,” Mayor Dave Kleis said. “You come in and there’s still a strong sense of collaboration. I think that’s what’s going to help the university, and it’s (also) going to help the city by working together.”
St. Cloud Live — The St. Cloud State volleyball team has been selected to finish third in the NSIC volleyball preseason coaches poll and fifth-year outside hitter Kenzie Foley was named preseason player of the year in an announcement from the league on Thursday, Aug. 8.
WJON — A local university’s new Esports Arena is having a big impact on its entire campus as well as gamers.
St. Cloud State University’s (SCSU) state-of-the-art Esports Arena opened in the spring of 2023 and was designed as a space for everyone to connect.
Christine Lepkowski has been named as the new interim dean of Herberger Business School (HBS) by Interim Provost Katherina Pattit, who recently left the position to take on the interim provost role.
A proud St. Cloud State alum, Dr. Lepkowski received her M.S. in Higher Education Administration at SCSU, before attending University of Minnesota where she received a Ph.D. in Higher Education. She has worked in HBS for over 16 years and has developed a deep understanding of its mission, values, goals, and culture.
