The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities has named Larry Dietz to serve as interim president of St. Cloud State University (SCSU). ST. CLOUD TIMES — As my presidency of St. Cloud State University draws to a close after six amazing, rewarding and challenging years, I want to express my appreciation to the community for the many ways you have shown your support and interest in your hometown university.
MPR — Jamie Gilchrist and Jessica Liimatainen are 2021 graduates of St. Cloud State University with degrees in Criminal Justice Studies.

WJON — St. Cloud State students will be looking to solve 5 problems from Thermo-Tech Premium Windows and Doors in Sauk Rapids later this month. The event is an extra-curricular opportunity for SCSU students called “Huskies Invent”.

ST. CLOUD LIVE — Jayden Porter is now in his fifth year with the SCSU swimming and diving program and came back for his final year of eligibility as a graduate student. He already has his undergrad degree in entrepreneurship and is taking his masters in management leadership.
But there’s something even bigger on the horizon for the Bismarck, North Dakota, native. Porter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after his sophomore year at St. Cloud State and has already put in 12 weeks of training. After this semester, he’ll move to Quantico, Virginia, to begin full duty.
St. Cloud State University has been awarded a $205K training grant in partnership with Central McGowan.
The grant was recently awarded by from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership (MJSP) funding.
The North Hennepin Community College and St. Cloud State University bands will perform a joint concert on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Presenting a program entitled “Marches for March,” each group will perform a variety of works for winds and percussion celebrating the anticipation of spring and all the warmth and energy it promises to bring.
WJON — A professor at St. Cloud State University has written a new book. Christopher Lehman is a professor of ethnic studies at SCSU. His new book is called “It Took Courage: Eliza Winston’s Quest for Freedom”.
The book takes place in 1860 when the enslaved woman traveled to Minnesota with her captors Mississippi residents Richard and Mary Christmas for summer vacation.
CBS — St. Cloud State University is expanding its cannabis curriculum.
Those looking to grow their knowledge can now sign up for courses in cannabis product development, and a design certificate program.
