Students and enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to participate.
Events will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 18 in the Ritsche Auditorium in Stewart Hall.
Special guests John Wooton, a rudimental drumming specialist, and Gordy Knudtson, a drum set artist, will present educational clinics and performances on marching snare and drum set.
Student competitions on marching snare drum or tenors and drum set will round out the afternoon. The day will conclude with a Brazilian samba on stage for all participants to play with parts taught by St. Cloud State Professor Terry Vermillion.

• 2:15 p.m. Brazilian samba performance
The competitions are for students ages 13-18. Instruments will be provided. Prizes awarded in both categories: Grand prize $250, second prize $100 and third prize $50.
Door prizes will also be awarded.

The Day of Percussion is hosted by the Department of Music and the School of the Arts. The event is sponsored through the financial support of the David Swenson Memorial Foundation, Bradley Rozman Memorial Foundation, Pearl Drums, Kracker Jacks Drum Shop, Paiste Cymbals, GK-Music and the St. Cloud State College of Liberal Arts and School of the Arts.
