St. Cloud Times — As Stephen R. Fuller tells it in his introduction, he was surprised no one had written a book about Munsinger Gardens and Clemens Gardens, one of St. Cloud’s most popular tourist spots.
When he asked about the unavailable book, a gardens gift shop worker told him he should write one.
Fuller took that advice. He consulted with Munsinger/Clemens experts, historian Bill Morgan and others. The result is the newly released “The Munsinger Clemens Gardens: The Jewel of St. Cloud.”
“It was a project that he undertook with some hesitation, but he grew in confidence as he progressed and kept being encouraged by people,” said Ozzie Mayers, who married Fuller in 2014.
The book will be recognized Saturday during a public reading. Sadly, Fuller will not be there: He died of cancer in February at age 71, according to his obituary. He taught music at St. Cloud State University until he retired in 2010.
