St. Cloud Times — Bob Hoye ’75 was one of the most recognizable people in the St. Cloud area, owner of Hoye Home Furnishings for more than three decades and a frequent advertiser in print and on radio.
He was gregarious and visible — and had a great memory. But about seven years ago, Hoye’s employees started seeing changes. So did his wife.
At age 56, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
An American is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s every 67 seconds (www.alz.org/facts). There are 89,000 Minnesotans who have the disease, and 5.3 million people across the United States.
