St. Cloud State theater students will take on an original devised work, 17th century comedy and the rock-musical “Hair” during the Department of Theatre and Film Studies’ 2015-16 season.

The October season opener, “Art is Free,” is an originally devised work created by Wave of Cacophony Theatre, a group of students from an improvisational class in spring 2015. The show is directed by Costume Studio Director Carol Cooley and Associate Professor Jen Tuder.
The production focuses on a struggling theater company in a world where it’s “illegal to offer, agree to, or engage in an artistic act for compensation” — where literally art is free.
