St. Cloud State Campus Recreation has added another “larger than life” activity for students to keep active. Knockerballs are now on campus.
“I’m excited to bring something that is fun and different than what you might find most anywhere else,” said Ron Seibring, director of Sports Facilities and Campus Recreation.
A Knockerball is a single chamber inflatable sphere with inner handles and adjustable shoulder straps for a person to wear. With multiple Knockerballs in the mix – people bumping into people, rolling and knock-downs – it’s an exhilarating sport.
The Viking Coke initiative fund provided the grant money to the Department of Sports Facilities and Campus Recreation. St. Cloud State received the grant because of the healthy nature of the activity and the significant student access that will be provided for their use.
“A number of campus recreation programs around the country have been implementing these into their program offerings,” Seibring said. “They are a healthy activity that provides a little ‘WOW’ factor that the students will enjoy here at St. Cloud State.”
The use of the equipment will be free to student organizations.
