St. Cloud Times — Up to 2,000 people are expected at this year’s Fifth Avenue Block Party on Thursday at Coborn’s Plaza.
It’s an event targeted toward St. Cloud State University students. The block party has two missions: one, to connect local businesses and students, and two, to let students know they can have a fun time without “Thirsty Thursday” temptations.
The block party will include free food, giveaways, a climbing wall, free energy drinks, skateboarding demonstrations, a “beer goggle” tricycle race and a glow stick dance party.
“We want to show these kids you can literally have the time of your life and there doesn’t have to be any alcohol involved,” said Lydia Hoffman, advancement director for Pregnancy Resource Center, one of the organizations that is part of the planning.
