Waite Shoemaker, St. Cloud State University, 1904
Shoemaker Hall's namesake Waite Shoemaker was a St. Cloud State University alumnus, faculty and president. Shoemaker was on leave from his presidency during the hall's construction and passed away before the hall's dedication in 1916. The building was never officially named by the state college board, but was first called Shoemaker Hall at the dedication and the name stuck. Photo courtesy of University Archives
