“The Voice” season one winner Javier Colon is bringing his winning sound to St. Cloud State University for a University Programming Board show at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Atwood Memorial Center Ballroom.
Colon’s music is a mix of rhythm and blues, folk, soul, rock and country.
He was a member of the bands EmcQ and The Derek Trucks Band before starting his solo career. In 2011 he won the first season of “The Voice” winning $100,000 and a Universal Republic recording contract.
He has performed with Joss Stone, Darius Rucker, The Indigo Girls, Chaka Khan and Anthony Hamilton. He has produced three albums with his fourth, “Gravity” expected out in early 2016.
Admission is $10 for the public and free for St. Cloud State students with their St. Cloud State ID. Tickets are available at scsutickets.com or at the Atwood Memorial Center Information Desk.
