For the first time this summer, Scottie Stone did not return to Melrose.
Instead, the 6-foot-4, 190-pounder stayed in St. Cloud, an indication of the expanded responsibilities the junior guard will assume on the St. Cloud State men’s basketball team this season.
“In the past, if you would have asked me my role here, I would have said it was to score,” said Stone, who averaged 14.4 points per game as a sophomore a year ago.
