The St. Cloud State University Husky Sports Band is 10 years old.
The band celebrated its anniversary at 1 p.m. March 1 in the Performing Arts Center, room 239.

Founded in 2006, the band has performed for more than 800,000 people at 342 events from home football and basketball games to the Minnesota State Fair.
The Husky Sports Band also is releasing its new 10th anniversary CD and a limited edition commemorative coin. This is the fourth CD the band has produced. CDs are $10 and come with a free commemorative coin.
The 10th anniversary CD features music from football and basketball seasons, and include historical recordings from the 1960s and 1970s. These tracks feature bands and former directors such as Kenton Frohrip, Dennis Layne and Roger Barrett.
With support from University Archives, these rare reel to reel recordings have been transferred to digital format and can now be heard for the first time.
The Husky Sports Band performs for athletic and campus community events throughout the year. There is no audition to join and membership is open to university and local high school students.
Husky Sports Band is lead by Glen Tuomala.
