Ron Seibring, director of Sport Facilities and Campus Recreation at St. Cloud State, was recognized in March for his support for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

The American Cancer Society event is hosted annually at St. Cloud State to raise awareness and funds to support breast cancer research, services and programs.

Seibring supported the event’s move to St. Cloud State in 2010 and has helped the event grow ever since, said Kim Orn, of the American Cancer Society.

He and his staff have always been there to help make Making Strides a success every year. They help ready for the event and are on hand to respond to any last minute requests to make sure it is a great experience for campus and community participants, said Corie Beckermann ’98 ’02, St. Cloud State Student Health Services director.

The event is held every year on campus to raise awareness and funds to support breast cancer research, services and programs.

Teams are now forming for the October 15 Making Strides event.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities with a shared determination to finish the fight. Since 1993, more than 11 million Making Strides walkers across the United States have raised more than $685 million.
