St. Cloud Times — Most Minnesotans think immigrants are good for the country, according to the fall SCSU Survey.
About 64 percent of respondents to the St. Cloud State University-hosted poll of landline and cellphone users said newcomers have a positive effect on the U.S.
But opinions split once country of origin entered the equation.
About 82 percent of statewide respondents support Minnesota continuing to welcome Mexican immigrants. About 55 percent said this about Somalis.
