St. Cloud State University is among the nation’s top schools that deliver the best experience for military students, according the Military Times’ Best for Vets: Colleges 2017 rankings.
The Best for Vets distinction recognizes colleges and universities for their commitment to educating and providing opportunities to America’s veterans, service members and families.
Institutions were evaluated for their principles of excellence, staff support, extracurriculars, accreditation and military retention and graduation rates.
St. Cloud State’s military support reputation is also demonstrated by offering in-state tuition and waiving application fees for all veterans, and participating in Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and Warrior to Citizen programs that help military families in financial need.
The rankings evaluate the many factors that help make colleges and universities a good fit for service members, military veterans and their families.
St. Cloud State ranked No. 49 out of 130, with more than 500 colleges taking part in the detailed survey.
The University serves about 700 student veterans each school year.
