St. Cloud Times – Sen. Michelle (Martin) Fischbach ’89 was elected president of the Minnesota Senate Jan. 3, the opening day of the 2017 legislative session.
Fischbach, of Paynesville, was chosen on a 34-31 vote in the Senate, which is now under Republican control.
She also chairs the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee. Fischbach earned her bachelor’s degree in political science.
