Petersen-Stejskal looks at how to enter clinical research field

Susan Petersen-Stejskal spoke on how to enter the clinical research field Feb. 1 at the Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF).

Petersen-Stejskal is vice president of clinical research at BioControlMedical and teaches in the Applied Clinical Research program at St. Cloud State University. She has more than 25 combined years of experience in research in the clinical setting and in industry.

She will speak about how clinical research is a good field for students with an interest in science, medicine and innovation.

For the past three to five years, clinical research associate has ranked high on the top jobs lists for Forbes and CNN/Money. In 2016, clinical research associate made Forbes top jobs list three times — senior clinical research associate was the No. 1 high paying-flexible, clinical research associate was the No. 8 high-paying flexible job and the position was No. 18 on the list of top paying STEM jobs for recent graduates.

St. Cloud State offers a master’s degree and graduate certificate in applied clinical research. Classes are held at the university’s new St. Cloud State at Plymouth on evenings and Saturdays, allowing students to work during business hours.
