Jensen has written 11 books for general audiences on topics such as patriarchy, free speech, dissent, constructive dialogue and radical feminism for men.
Sales of his books will benefit Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center. Only cash and checks will be accepted.
In the forward to “Getting Off” Jensen describes live sexual theatrics he witnessed at an adult entertainment expo. He suggests the male crowd watching the female performers illustrated the dominant masculinity in the United States, the masculinity of a mob, ready to rape. A key thesis of Jensen’s book, crafted for his own life: I can settle for being a man or I can struggle to become a human being.
Jensen holds a doctorate in media ethics and law from the University of Minnesota.
He is a product of the Minnesota State system: He earned his bachelor’s degree in social studies education at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Jensen’s presentation, which is titled “Pornography: Critiquing Media, Power & Masculinity,” is sponsored by St. Cloud State Women’s Center and Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center.
