High school directors nominate their most outstanding musicians to rehearse and perform with St. Cloud State University faculty and invited guest clinicians:
- Courtney Snyder, the associate director of bands and assistant professor of music at the University of Michigan. Snyder also directs the Michigan Youth Wind Band, a group of select, auditioned high school students from local music programs.
- Brent Biskup, the director of bands at Flower Mound High School in Flower Mound, Texas.
- Aaron Perrine, a composer with works in a variety of genres. He is a two-time winner of the American Bandmasters Association Sousa/Ostwald Award.
- Gary Paulo, saxophonist and D’Addario Reserve Method Artist. He is the artist affiliate for saxophone at Emory University and is on the woodwind staff at Lassiter High School. He has performed with artists spanning many genres of music.
The students will rehearse with the faculty members and clinicians throughout the day and then perform a finale concert as two festival honor bands at 7:30 p.m. March 31 in Ritsche Auditorium in Stewart Hall.
The concert also features the St. Cloud State Wind Ensemble conducted by director Catharine Bushman.
