STAR TRIBUNE – Public relations entrepreneur and public servant Robert “Bob” Goff died Wednesday at his home in Lowertown, St. Paul.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, seven children and a dozen grandchildren.
Goff, 80, and his wife were active St. Cloud State supporters, notably funding the Bob and Phyllis Goff Education Scholarship.
His private-sector career is highlighted by the founding of a public-relations firm now called Goff Public. Among the St. Cloud state alumni who’ve worked there in recent years is Chris Duffy ’11.
Goff’s service in state government included preventing the demolition of the boyhood home of aviator Charles Lindbergh. He, Gov. Karl Rolvaag and a handful of other officials cut a deal at the back table of a St. Paul restaurant.
