It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the death of St. Cloud State student Jesse Dady. This has been an extremely difficult week for Jesse’s family and friends and all of campus, and the University offers its condolences.
Jesse was a junior studying biochemistry. He started at St. Cloud State in fall semester 2013.
He went missing in the early hours of March 25, and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, St. Cloud Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and St. Cloud Fire Department tirelessly led the search to find him.
Stearns County Sheriff’s divers recovered Jesse’s body from the Mississippi River on Friday evening. The police are continuing its investigation but do not believe at this time that foul play was a factor in Jesse’s death.
This is not the outcome that any of us wanted from this search. The death of one of our students is a deep loss to the University, and we all grieve in different ways. A candlelight vigil will be held on campus at 8 p.m. Sunday on the Atwood Mall. All are invited to come together as we mourn Jesse’s death.
Jesse’s family has established a donation account with US Bank to help cover funeral expenses. If you would like to make a donation visit any US Bank location and say you would like to donate to the Jesse A. Dady Donation Account.
