Student Life and Development Vice President Wanda Overland is the first customer at the 10th annual Used Book Sale. Overland is also celebrating 10 years of service at the university this year.

The Lindgren Child Care Center held its 10th annual Used Book Sale April 19 in the Atwood Memorial Center Lounge.

Staff members help out a child with counting
Lindgren Child Care Center staff helped the children work as cashiers for their book sale.

The students collected donations of more than 4,600 books from people throughout campus and the community that they separated into categories for the sale.

The Used Book Sale began 10 years ago when the Lindgren Child Care Center preschoolers began noticing litter when walking across the St. Cloud State University campus.

The children began the book sale as a way to collect old books and recycle them to new users. They used the funds raised through the book sale for sustainability projects, which have included recycling bins and water fill stations on campus.
