St. Cloud State University Professor Oladele Gazal has been selected as one of 46 African Dispora scholars by the Carnegie African Dispora Fellowship Program.
The fellowship program brings together scholars born in Africa and now working in the United States or Canada together with scholars in Africa to work on mutually-beneficial academic activities.
The 46 scholars are collaborating with higher education institutions in Africa on curriculum co-development, research, graduate teaching, training and mentoring. The scholars will work on projects at 24 institutions in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
Gazal is working with biology professor Sylvia Uzochukwu of Federal University Oye-Ekiti in Nigeria.
They are working with faculty and students on curriculum development and graduate student training and mentoring.
