New students arriving on campus this fall won’t be all alone – they’ll each have a personalized team of support staff members making sure they have a successful transition into college life.
“St. Cloud State University is launching Student Success Teams so we can provide students with a coordinated network of support that will help them acquire the tools and skills they need to find success through graduation and beyond,” said Interim Assistant Provost Glenn Davis.
Each Student Success Team will be made up of an academic adviser, a financial aid officer, a Career Center specialist and a faculty member who will provide expert advice about selecting courses, navigating campus resources, career planning and budgeting. Additional team members may be assigned based on student needs and interests.
The Student Success Teams project has the added goal of improving retention and graduation rates.
This is just one of the many initiatives St. Cloud State University is implementing this fall as part of our participation in the Reimagining the First Year project, which is sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
