Dear Campus Community,
Like many of you, I watched the news coming out of Charlottesville, Virginia, this past weekend with shock, frustration and sadness. The march showed that some in our country still find hatred and bigotry acceptable.
It is not.
Racism, white supremacy, and discrimination go against the values we stand for as a welcoming, inclusive and diverse campus. I want to express our support for Charlottesville and the University of Virginia in the wake of the violence and terror they have experienced.
In preparing for the new academic year, the safety and well-being of our campus community remains our top priority. As we welcome the Class of 2021 to campus this week, I ask that you stand with me to make sure that this new class as well as our returning students know that they are valued members of the St. Cloud State community.
