Wish You Were Here: Karina Kern sings her way out of the dark following her mother’s death

ST CLOUD TIMES – On May 10, 2016, Karina Kern ’13  experienced the worst day of her life.

Two months later, she relived it. And again. And again. And again.

Kern lost her mother on that day in May, and that July she suffered a similar loss with the death of her “second mom” Janean Thielman, mother to a close friend of Kern’s.

That same year, Kern also saw the passing of her godmother, grandmother and aunt.
